Terms
Our standard terms of service.
Every project is governed by the quotation you accept. These are the standard terms each quotation includes unless it says otherwise.
Ink and Purpose Books is a division of Ink and Purpose Studios.
1. Scope. The studio will produce the deliverables listed in this quotation. Work outside that list is quoted separately before it begins.
2. Revisions. The quotation includes the stated number of proof revision rounds. A round is one consolidated set of corrections. Further rounds, or changes to text that was marked final, may be billed at the studio's hourly rate after you agree.
3. Payment. The deposit is due when you accept, and production is scheduled once it is received. The balance is due before final files are released. Invoices are payable by card through the Author Desk or by any other method the studio confirms in writing.
4. Your materials. You confirm you own, or have permission to use, the text, images and other material you supply. You keep all rights to your book. The studio may not use your unpublished content for any purpose other than producing your project.
5. Portfolio. The studio will only show your published book in its portfolio with your written permission.
6. Schedule. Dates assume materials and feedback arrive when agreed. A delay on either side moves the schedule by a corresponding amount.
7. Approval. Approving a proof confirms that version is ready for production. Errors you approve can be corrected later as a new, separately quoted job.
8. Files. Final files are delivered through the Author Desk. Keep your own copies; the studio keeps project files for 180 days after delivery and then deletes them unless you ask for a longer period in writing.
9. Cancellation. If you cancel, the deposit covers work completed to that point. If completed work exceeds the deposit, the studio will invoice the difference, itemized.
10. Printer acceptance. Files are prepared to the printer specification you choose. Printer and retailer review decisions are outside the studio's control, but the studio will correct its own errors at no charge.
